A Matchmaking-based Ontology Evolution Methodology

چکیده
In this paper, we present the H-Change methodology we have specifically conceived for evolving independent ontologies in open networked systems. Furthermore, we describe the change detection techniques based on semantic matchmaking for determining the most appropriate location where to frame new incoming knowledge within an existing ontology. Change assimilation techniques for evolving ontology metadata to incorporate the new incoming knowledge at different integration levels are also outlined.

The HMatch 2.0 Suite for Ontology Matchmaking
In this paper, we present the HMatch 2.0 suite for a flexible and tailored ontology matchmaking, by focusing on the architectural features and on the evaluation results. Applications of HMatch 2.0 are also discussed, with special regard for the ontology evolution issues in the frame of the BOEMIE research project.
متن کاملS-cbr: Semantic Case Based Reasoner for Web Services Discovery and Matchmaking
Web services are being increasingly adopted as the computing engine of choice for today’s Internet-driven applications. The composition of Web services further advances their advantages by allowing different services to integrate for providing new, value-added services. The automated discovery of adequate Web services is the pre-requisite and core feature for achieving dynamic Web services comp...
متن کاملPosition Paper: A Grid Service Discovery Matchmaker Based on Ontology Description
An ontology defines a common vocabulary that facilitates the sharing of information in a domain. It includes machine-interpretable definitions of basic concepts in the domain and their relations. In the Grid environment (GE) where so many different implementations are available, the need for semantic matching based on a defined ontology becomes increasingly important. Especially for service dis...
متن کاملCorpus-based Web Services Matchmaking
Discovering Web services and clustering them based on their functionalities are important problems with few existing solutions. Users may search for Web services using keywords and receive services that semantically match the keywords. Semantic Web service matchmaking, proposed to enhance the precision of matchmaking using syntactical cues, is generally based upon semantic service descriptions ...
متن کاملApplying Semantic Web Technologies to Matchmaking and Web Service Descriptions
The recent growth of using agents in representing web services is causing difficulties in finding specific types of services. This problem usually arises because matchmaking techniques for services are often based on string comparison and service providers might neglect to provide enough or appropriate keywords for the matchmaking process. In this paper we report on an approach that makes use o...
